White House pact hid visits amid scandal

White House pact hid visits amid scandal - Politics -

Last time I checked we lived in a democracy where the leaders are accountable to the public they serve...
The White House and the Secret Service quietly signed an agreement last spring in the midst of the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal declaring that records identifying visitors to the White House are not open to the public.
I'm sure using supposed presidential power to conceal embarrassing dealings is not what the founders' had in mind for our chief executives. But this president seems to think he can do whatever he needs to do to manipulate public opinion.... including covering up dealings with criminals.

How much more will it take before we try to impeach this criminal?

Dumb as anything. Never taught to learn. ON purpose.
Will the military take care of this situation with Bush.?
Are they thinking about it.?
A coup.?
Serve and protect. Not coopted by the Corporatacracy.?

Well, our chance to convince Nancy Pelosi to Impeach Bush/Cheney is this Monday Jan. 15th..

Pelosi most likely said impeachment was "off the table" to remove any appearance of conflict-of-interest that would arise if she were thrust into the presidency as a result of the coming impeachment.

What we need to do is to pressure Pelosi not to interfere with impeachment maneuverings within her party. Sending her Do-It-Yourself impeachments legitimizes her when she is forced to join the impeachment movement in the future.

Sacks and sacks of mail are about to arrive in Nancy Pelosi's office initiating impeachment via the House of Representative's own rules this Monday January 15th. This legal document is as binding as if a State or if the House itself passed the impeachment resolution (H.R. 635).

There's a little known and rarely used clause of the "Jefferson Manual" in the rules for the House of Representatives which sets forth the various ways in which a president can be impeached. Only the House Judiciary Committee puts together the Articles of Impeachment, but before that happens, someone has to initiate the process. That's where we come in. In addition to a House Resolution (635), or the State-by-State method, one of the ways to get impeachment going is for individual citizens like you and me to submit a memorial. has created a new memorial based on one which was successful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find it on their website as a PDF.

You can initiate the impeachment process and simultaneously help to convince Pelosi to follow through with the process. Do-It-Yourself by downloading the memorial, filling in the relevant information (your name, state, etc.), and sending it in. Be a part of history.

There is a problem with that. Pelosi is just as corrupt as Bush and friends. Our whole Political establishment is controled by special interest Globalism interests. The Military/Industrial/Congresional complex is unlikely to be reformed. It is time for another American Revolution , and a restructuring of North American society.?

I find myself agreeing with Skip a lot lately. :-) Either I've lost my marbles or he's making lots of sense. ha ha.
Yes, it's time for another American Revolution to remind people of the ideals on which this country was founded.

That's a bit scary!! LOL...

These people don't even understand what a representative democracy is -- let alone how to serve in one.

I guess this is exactly what happens when you put a spoiled brat elitist in office.

This is what happens when you have a fat, lazy, self-entitled populace. Our dear emperor Bush is nothing more than a reflection of the collective us.

This is what Rome looked like at the end.

There's some truth to your last statement... we have become a fat/lazy society.

On a related note, I was just having dinner with friends the other night... One person commented on how he didn't like to see a "whole fish" or otherwise be able to identify the animal he was eating. He thought it somewhat distasteful.

I pointed out that, in the thousands upon thousands of years mankind has lived on this Earth, that its only been during the last 50 or so years that a generation could actually say they didn't know or see the animal from which their dinner came. In fact, my parents grew up with animals, regularly slaughtered them themselves. When I was growing up my mother often went to the butcher and returned with a recognizable piece of the animal.

How incredibly spoiled we've become -- in only a generation or two.
